Cost-Effective Solution
TNS Carrier Network Routing Directory (NRD) is a multi-protocol centralized registry system designed to simplify your routing. NRD empowers your company with a single platform to manage your peering and interconnection relationships, legacy or next generation, for improved routing. By determining the carrier of record, traffic can be routed directly and new revenue generation is simplified.
Fully Managed Multi-Party Registry System
The industry faces a challenge that stems from applications using internet protocols to communicate with consumer devices addressed by telephone numbers. To ensure successful service delivery, the application must have the ability to identify the carrier-of-record for the destined telephone number. Number portability, reseller arrangements and leased numbers complicate carrier-of-record identification. Further complicating IP communications, nationally regulated number management systems do not describe how telephone numbers are allocated for end-user assignment by the service provider for different services such as SMS, MMS and voice.
TNS Carrier NRD offers a cost-effective solution to resolve these issues. Our registry is populated with information sourced from industry and regulatory number management systems, along with authoritative data sourced directly from the carrier or reseller.
This helps the application to discover the accurate carrier-of-record and applicable IP address for a given telephone number by simply performing a number lookup. TNS Carrier NRD consists of key service functions: Local Service Management System, Registrar, Registry, and Central Replica or optional Local Replica which can be collocated with the customer’s application, within their data center.
How Carrier Routing Directory Can Help

- Real-time business intelligence reports - Detail traffic flows and allow customers to prioritize and establish direct peering with preferred carriers
- Single platform for routing needs - Number Portability data & Numbering Plan data, Toll-free routing, Global MNP data, IP peering, VoLTE routing, SS7, ENUM and SIP protocols supported
- Improve operational efficiency - One interface for reduced administrative systems
- Reduce costs - Peering directly with partners Increase revenue - Send toll-free traffic directly to the RESPORG using CIC override
- Establish peering relationships - Provision your subscribers’ routing data and control how your peers can route calls to your subscribers
- Control peering traffic - Source based routing, unique routing information per querying node
